Josh Cooke is set to star in the CBS comedy
pilot "My Best Friend's Girl."
Meanwhile, Nicole Sullivan has been tapped
as the lead in the Lifetime comedy pilot
"Rita Rocks," joined by Richard Ruccolo and
Tisha Campbell Martin.
Additionally, Erinn Hayes has landed the
female lead in the CBS comedy pilot "Worst
Week," and Kay Panabaker has joined NBC's
comedy pilot "Zip."
"Girl," from Sony, is a multicamera comedy
about two male best friends who own a bike
shop and whose relationship becomes
complicated when one (Tim Peper) starts
dating the ex-wife of the other (Cooke).
Cooke recently played the male lead on the
ABC comedy "Big Day."
The multicamera "Rita," from Media Rights
Capital, centers on Rita (Sullivan), an
overworked wife and mother in the middle of
a full-blown identity crisis who starts a
garage band with her postal carrier Patty
(Campbell Martin) as well as her neighbor.
Ruccolo, repped by APA and Brillstein
Entertainment Partners, will play Rita's
husband, a handsome former jock who now
spends his days working 9 to 5 in a jacket
and tie. Sullivan is with Innovative and the
Safran Co.
"Worst," an American version of the BBC's
"The Worst Week of My Life," centers on Sam
(Kyle Bornheimer) and his rocky relationship
with the parents of his fiancee (Hayes)
during a family holiday.
Hayes, who starred on Fox's "The Winner," is
repped by Innovative and manager David
Sweeney.
"Zip," from Universal, centers on a guy
(Steven Weber) with no money living in
Beverly Hills who -- with the help of a
colorful cast of accomplices -- concocts
schemes to secure a glamorous lifestyle for
his three children. Panabaker, repped by
Coast to Coast and attorney Patrick Knapp,
will play the oldest child, who is bright,
somewhat jaded and tired of her father's
scams. |
