Breslin, Ward checking
in as 'Grey's' guests

Abigail Breslin, who is onscreen in Fox
Searchlight Pictures' critically acclaimed
film "Little Miss Sunshine," is set to guest
star in an upcoming episode of ABC's "Grey's
Anatomy."
Fred Ward also has signed on for a
guest-star role on the Touchstone Television
medical drama, marking the veteran actor's
first guest-starring stint on a TV series.
Ten-year-old Breslin will appear in an
episode titled "Sometimes a Fantasy" that
has not yet been given an airdate but is the
third episode to have been shot for the
show's third season, which premieres at 9
p.m. Sept. 21. Ward will make his appearance
on one of the first five episodes of the
season. No details were provided about their
characters.
Other previously announced guest stars
include Diahann Carroll and Chris O'Donnell,
who will return in his role as veterinarian
Finn Dandridge. "Grey's" stars Ellen Pompeo,
Patrick Dempsey, James Pickens Jr., T.R.
Knight, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Chandra
Wilson, Isaiah Washington, Justin Chambers,
Kate Walsh and Sara Ramirez.
"Grey's" is up for multiple Primetime Emmy
Awards, including best drama series, which
are being handed out Sunday. Shonda Rhimes
is creator and executive producer, while
Mark Gordon, Betsy Beers, Peter Horton and
Krista Vernoff are executive producers.
Breslin's film credits also include "Signs,"
"Raising Helen" and "The Princess Diaries 2:
Royal Engagement" as well as the upcoming
"Air Buddies," "The Ultimate Gift" and "No
Reservations." On the TV side, she has
appeared in episodes of NBC's "Law & Order:
SVU" and CBS' "NCIS" and "Ghost Whisperer."
Breslin is repped by Coast to Coast Talent.
Ward's numerous film credits include "Sweet
Home Alabama," "Enough," "Chain Reaction,"
"Naked Gun 331/3: The Final Insult," "The
Player," "Tremors," "Miami Blues," "Remo
Williams: The Adventure Begins," "The Right
Stuff," "Uncommon Valor" and "Escape From
Alcatraz." His upcoming projects include the
feature "Feast of Love."
